This week we had a guest lecturer, Heidi James, for the promotion of gaming in education. She is a huge advocate for educational Minecraft. I have never played Minecraft. My younger brother loved Minecraft but now only plays periodically. I remember my stepmom arguing that Minecraft is educational and that’s why my brother was allowed to play. I have never had a desire to play before. However, after James’ presentation, I am curious to give it a shot.
I downloaded the education version available through Uvic. Here is a short video capture of a couple tasks I completed, set to CCR‘s Bad Moon Rising — because they’re my favourite band!
It just sort of ends because the file was too big to upload here… so I cut off the end.
