    Great post!
The AP math students really made me laugh!!! I can totally understand that when “getting into collage” has been drilled as the measure of success for students that anything that may feel like it leans away from potentially achieve that that can be scary.
I have felt that way for sure in my schooling career. That the only thing i needed to focus on was getting the questions right on the test.

    Loved your video format, Gabrielle!

I also resonated with what you were saying about Bryan. I think his sheer determination just shows how much this project was for him and no one else. I think that when we see students that invested in their projects we know something is going right. I can only hope that when I have a class I am able to set it up in a way that really allows for this individualized interest-based learning. I look back on my education and there are very few projects that I can remember doing because I enjoyed them, and not just because I was required to… I hope we can change that for future students!

I was also totally impressed with Brian’s dedication to his project! It really does go to show the influence that student choice and interest can have in learning. I was also able to relate to the AP students which is probably because the success my own high school and post secondary education has been measured by grades and heavily relied on test results. Imagining myself in their position of mentally sidelining grades while most post secondary institutions still use these to determine acceptance is super daunting.
